Firefox Security Steps

Making money online is very hard job and full of surprises. When I say surprises I mean all sort of scams that can happen to anybody online. World of paid to click, paid to read, autosurfs, HYIP and investment programs is full of scammers that barely wait to scam you and take your hard made earnings.

How can you prevent this?

There are few things you should know about security, especially if you’re making money whit some programs mentioned above.

  • Use Firefox browser, not IE
  • Do not use same password
  • Change password regularly
  • Do not click on the links you receive by mail, from unknown sender
  • Check your computer regularly

Use Firefox browser

Firefox browser is far more superior browser then IE. He manages to stop most of the pop-up sites to open and have various useful add-ons, which can be installed and can protect you from scammers. Firefox is widely spread among the net. I just found this article about 600 million Firefox downloads (it is from last year).

Firefox Tops 600 Million Downloads

Less than four years after it crossed the 100 million mark, total downloads of Mozilla’s Firefox Web browser have now passed 600 million, although the number does not represent total installations. Since the release of Firefox 3 in June 2008, the browser has continued to take market share from IE.

Mozilla is now working on version 3.7. of Firefox, which is currently in its alpha stages of development. The update has seen a number of delays and a beta release is not due until the fall, but that hasn’t slowed adoption.

According to the company, Firefox usage in Europe is nearing 50 percent market share, which would put it over Internet Explorer for the first time anywhere in the world.

Do not use same password

Never use same password for each site you are signing. If scammer gets your password on one site, he will be able to sign-in on every site you are a member. All he needs to do is to visit your blog and see which money making sites you are promoting. He will visit those sites and empty your account.

You can prevent this to happen by using different password for every site. It is best to use some kind of password generator, which will create different and secure password for each site.

Change password regularly

I suggest you to change your password every month or at least once in two months.

Do not click on the links you receive by mail

Here is example of mail fraud and why I use Firefox as my main browser.

Your account has been randomly flagged in our system as a part of our routine security measures. This is a must to ensure that only you have access and use of your Google account and to ensure a safe Gmail experience.

We require all flagged accounts to verify their information on file with us.

This is the right link for update account page.

After you verify your information, your account shall be returned to good standing and you will continue to have full use of your account. Please note that if you don’t verify your ownership of account in 2 x 24 hours we will block/suspend your Google account.

Thanks,

The Gmail Team

I receive this mail several times a day. At first I thought it was real mail from Google and clicked on link in it. New site opened where they want my personal information (mail, password, street, name etc.). Fortunately I use Firefox browser, which warned me about potential fraud. This site looked like real Google site and is used for identity theft.

Check your computer regularly

I suggest you to check your computer regularly for potential viruses, Trojans or other software that can hurt your computer. Ad-Aware from Lavasoft and Spybot Search&Destroy are free and very good!

I hope that you like article and you will be more “security aware” in the future when you make your money online…be careful!
