The Tube is here and now it’s called the 5800 XpressMusic. Nokia Company wants for new cellphone to become iPhone killer, but they want to stop every comparison with iPhone at the beginning.
It’s music-centric device, says Nokia, and has a 3.2-inch touch-screen, 3.2-megapixel AF camera with dual-LED flash, VGA front camera, A-GPS, HDSPA, up to 16GB of storage via microSD and some loud speakers which were actually quite clear and crisp.
The 5800 XpressMusic will be available in Europe by year’s end for 279 Euro/$320 USD and it comes with a fancy plectrum-style stylus and an 8GB microSD. There are no carriers announced and it may be available from Nokia stores and online next year.
Along with new cellphone Nokia announced their “Comes With Music” program last month, a media download offers unlimited music downloads for the first year of ownership with backing from Sony BMG, Warner Music Group, EMI, and Universal Music Group.
The previous XpressMusic phones were Nokia’s first “media phones” aimed at folks who specifically wanted to listen to music on their phones. Comes With Music is a nice move for a company who controls 90% of all European and at least 60% of world cellphone markets.
