Wi-Fi, wireless network, which we all so love might kill trees. Specifically, the study of a Dutch university has shown that radiation from wireless networks causes irregularities in the trees.
In the Dutch city ‘Alphen aan den Rijn‘ began survey 5 years ago, in order to understand the anomalies in the growth of urban trees. Research at the University of Wageningen University showed that 70 percent of trees in urban areas today, shows similar symptoms to anomalies, as it has five years ago only ten per cent.
Twenty stems of ash tree after a period of three months exposed to different radiation sources. Trees that have been in the vicinity of Wi-Fi networks have shown changes in the structure of the leaves, causing the death of the upper and lower epidermis of leaves. This in turn leads to the death of some parts of leaves. The study also found that radiation from Wi-Fi’s may inhibit the growth of maize.
But there is no time to panic. Researchers complain that these are only preliminary results and that previous research has shown that wireless networks are not harmful.
